I wonder why the cantons can't at least agree a common numbering system for the fields?
(Apart from the obvious that they don't agree on anything much)
That would mean translations, guides and software would be much much easier, but they could still request whatever information and in whatever form they like, just using an agreed reference.
HiggsBosun, you have left it a bit late, but if you visit large Migros and Coop notice boards, there is often someone from the tax office offering their services for Fr 100 to Fr 200 (for a straight forward case).
Otherwise look for a "conseiller fiscal" near you.
Is there an English guide for the canton of Basel-stadt for the tax return form?
Also, does anybody know how much a tax consultant charges to fill in the tax return form? And do you know a relatively cheap option in Basel-stadt? It would be good for the first time if I get it filled in by s specialist to see how it is done and ask the (many) questions I have.
You don’t need to declare it in the tax form, the tax office knows how much you have already paid. Once you have completed and filed your tax return they will calculate the total tax owed, subtract the amount you’ve already paid and bill you for the amount outstanding.
