As a warning, expect to pay at least three times as much as you would in Canada. I remember back in Waterloo I used to think $20 for a haircut was extortion, and now I think $50 in Lausanne is lucidrously cheap.
You have been a great help. Yeah I am looking for a barber. I really need a hair cut. I should have done that just before I left toronto. Yeah , talking to people I realized that its going to be quite expensive. I am actually thinking about shaving my head on a regular basis...lol. I will try this place you recommeded.
So you are from waterloo or you went to U of Waterloo ? What you doing here ? I think you told me that you are a post doc. What kind of research you do ?
Take care
Raj
I can't really help much - most places downtown will understand english, but would not expect much of a conversation...
Personally on hairdressers - (don't do barbers, am a lady), so have grown long hair and figured out how to cut myself. .... HAHAHA
Hi Heather
I found that english speaking african barber. He did a good job and cost me CHF 25. I am not sure if it was too much or just fair compared to other barber shops around here. The guy was pretty relaxed and dacing while giving hair cuts to people.
Thanks
Raj
Thanks!

I am starting work Monday and desperately need a Hairdresser in Lausanne. Preferably one that speaks English. I remember searching this forum some time ago an found a thread describing a good one in Flon. (Anyone know which tread that is?)
Also I hope I can find someone with no scheduling needed in advance...
I hope you can help me
(NB I am a guy age 30...for info regarding the choice of hairdresser)
I was wondering if anyone knew of an Australian hairdresser in or around Lausanne? I don't necessarily need someone who speaks english, but just someone who isn't going to botch up foils !!
Any recommendations?
Many thanks,
Elise
Slight Tangent, but does anyone know if this african dude is an actual 'Barber' or just does hair-cuts. I'm trying to find somewhere in the Lausanne area that I can go to for a good old fashioned barber's shave on the morning of my wedding.
Any idea?
i've been looking but found no one.
Hi,
I have recently moved to Lausanne and have always used Toni & Guy in UK and never come out with a spikey haircut. Also I have tried Eric Stipa, Av de la Gare. They don't speak English but I was very happy with the cut and the price for a cut and blow dry with the manager was cheper then what I used to pay.
