English Speaking universities in Geneva

Hi Everyone!

I am quite new to this forum, in fact this is my first post! I thought a specialized Switzerland would be able to answer some question i have about living there. I am in London at the moment, studying at University on an International Relations course and I am looking to do a semester at a University in Geneva, because I want to do an internship program at the UN. Apparently, Swiss. run a shadow program to the ERASMUS program for EU citizens and I was wondering whether anyone out there knows of any Universities in Geneva that teach their classes in English as opposed to French? I, unfortunatly cannot speak French - not even one word (OK, yes Bonjour, thats it!) and I cannot expect myself to follow an academic program in a different language, however saying that it does seem like a tempting and exciting challenge. At the same time i dont think its good for me to attend classes in French, because I would be too busy trying to figure out what the hell they are talking about, instead of the actual subject and I dont want my education to suffer. Has anyone done this before?

Thanks!

Hiiii!

I have been doing a lot of research to find english speaking universities and I found Webster University, Franklin College, and the International University in Geneva. These schools offer all the courses in english which is awesome! I hope that helps! good luck!

There is nothing shadowy about ERASMUS in Switzerland. The Swiss Universities simply participate (the E stands for European, not EU).

The Universities chelidemestral mentionned are all private (and quite expensive, considering university is more or less free here). I'm not too sure they participate in Erasmus.. contact them anyway, maybe I'm wrong.

If you are an advanced student in international relations, you might want to look at the graduate institute of international and development studies.

There is also a campus of the European University, but mostly business I think.

But these private universities are way too expensive. If anyone knows English medium public universities, please let me know. My daughter got a higher diploma from ABE (UK) and she wants to continue her studies here. As we lived in London for 4 years and a half, her English is quite good. But we cannot afford those private universities. That's why we are finding English medium public universities in Geneva. Thanks in advance.

There is only one public University in Geneva.
