I'm looking for a good English-speaking vet in Zurich. I know there were some results from 2008 or so, but I was wondering if the recommendations were the same. More specifically, we're looking for a vet that knows how to deal with possible behavioral issues.
I'm willing to travel to Kilchberg, Adlswil, Horgen, etc.
Dear Katze has become basement cat in the last week or so, and not just that, aggressive basement cat. This evening was spent in Spital Sanitas getting my face stitched back together after she went completely unhinged. With a baby on the way, we need to figure out what our options are. Hopefully (if I can say that), she is just a bit sick and can be straightened out. However, we're really worried and need to get our beloved (insane) cat to a vet, pronto.
As I know nothing about cats, I'll let the feline experts give you recommendations for a vet.

(When facing a behavior problem in dogs, after a vet visit to rule out underlying physical/medical conditions, I would turn to a behaviorist. Are there also cat behaviorists? The umbrella organiziation of animal behaviorists in Switzerland is http://www.vieta.ch/ .)
While you are waiting, though, I would suggest this fantastic book: 'Low Stress Handling: Restraint And Behavior Modification of Dogs And Cats', by Dr. Sophia Yin.
Dr Yin's books and website have been a great help me in learning how to more effectively (and safely) handle my touch-phobic fearful collie. This bought me the time I needed to implement a behavioral rehabilitation program. Dr. Yin is both a veterinarian and behaviorist; the book is written as a guide to animal-care professionals, but has much to offer pet owners as well. It's rather expensive, though.
I just wanted to say thank you for the recommendation. Dr. Hagan and his team were fantastic; my cat was not. They had to put her in a bag in order to give her an injection, and they couldn't get anywhere NEAR her for a proper checkup.
So, I have a cat on antidepressants now, and she's calmer. Still bitchy, but calmer. I'm wondering if we'll need to knock her out for the next appointment.
Anyway, thank you for the rec - they didn't bat at an eye at her bitchiness.
(i was thinking that maybe the cat thinks she is also pregnant, or feels put out by all the extra hormones floating around.. will wait for the docs 2nd report)
