I suspect it will come 2-3 weeks earlier (second kid), so I want to invite my dad to come on June 10 and stay for 5 weeks.
He doesn't need a visa, but Travel check website says because he has Sputnik vaccine he can only come if for an "exceptional situation":
"Birth, wedding, serious illness of grandparents, parents, siblings, children or grandchildren resident in Switzerland".
My kid and I are on B permit, so I hope this qualifies him to come and visit us, but I don't know how to be sure that is the case.
Should I contact SEM? Can I tell them why he is coming? Is it a problem that he comes 3 weeks before due date?
Thanks
For per sons who do not require a visa , it is the immigration authorities on arrival in Switzerland
who examine whether the conditions for exceptional entry are met and decide, on the basis of
the evidence presented, whether the person is authorised to enter Sw itzerland.
Entry to visit grandparents, parents, siblings, children, or grandchildren who live in Switzerland if there is an important family reason for doing so (birth, wedding, serious illness). This also includes the immediate family of the person entitled to enter (i.e. husband/wife, registered partner and minor children), provided the family all enter Switzerland together.
