Equivalent of GAP insurance in Switzerland?

Afternoon all, I have recently purchased a car from BMW that will be delivered later this summer. In the UK I think Im safe to say that the majority of people with a car lease also have GAP insurance.

Although different forms of GAP exist, the main type, in the event of a total loss vehicle accident, would cover the difference between the insurer evaluated value of the car at the time of the accident and the total amount payable under the lease with the aim of making you financially 'whole' again.

Does this sort of insurance exist in Switzerland? Given that you can insure just about everything in Switzerland I would imagine it does, but I cannot find reference to it.

Any links, pointers, info - much appreciated.

Never heard of such an insurance here. Check with your insurer if you would be covered for such a thing with your normal car insurance.

Hi,

I work for Swiss Life and co-operate with several insurance companies, mostly with Mobiliar and Vaudoise which both are very good insurance companies. If you like I can ask about this issue with from my Mobiliar/Vaudoise partner. Let my know if you want me to ask this for you.
