Hi everyone,
What type of permit do you get in Switzerland if you live in Swizerland and work in Liechtenstein?
The classic B Swiss permit as if you were working in Switzerland or a B permit on which is written "has the right to live in Switzerland, but not to work" ?
Thanks for your help.
Cheers
Yes that is correct, assuming you are EU
Sorry read too quickly it would be a five year B permit assuming indefinite contract that indeed says:
“has the right to live in Switzerland, but not to work"
Can anyone please help me understand how working in Liechtenstein will change things for me?
I am an EU citizen living in canton of Zurich, in posession of permit B. As far as I understand, I will pay contributions to 1st pillar and 2nd pillar in Liechtenstein. What happens to the 1st pillar contributions paid in Switzerland so far?
What happens to the 3rd pillar? Can I keep it in Switzerland and continue contributions? Will I not be taxed income tax at source anymore but file yearly tax forms in Switzerland?
And finally, will I be able to obtain C permit once I reach 10 year lived in Switzerland, if I will be working in Liechtenstein? Does the years with B permit with no rights to work count towards the c permit?
I did put a lot of effort in finding the answers but I am still very confused about it 😐
Thanks a lot in advance!
Historic 1st pillar contributions stay in Switzerland and will be paid out as a Swiss pension when you reach whatever age is then ruling.
Liechtenstein 1st pillar contributions get you a Liechtenstein pension. For both the contribution years /44 determine how much you get (they calculate this to the month!) Plus in Liechtenstein is you get 13 months AHV paid out!
Pillar 3 is unaffected and governed by where you live not where you work.
