Spain-Germany match later today in Stuttgart.

Both teams are complete, no injuries, or key players out because yellow/red cards accumulation.

Expected temp 23°C, no rain.

This will be a fun one. Both teams have been playing nice.

The winner of this match will be pretty much favourite to win the tournament as well.

No, that will be Switzerland :switzerland:

Tschüss!

Fucking shit. Close game. Could have gone both ways. Very strange penalty decision. Spaniards with quite a few unsportsmanlike plays.

That was fun.
I was looking forward to penalties though.

Shame the Spanish guy got himself sent off but he deserved it.

I think the Spanish player couldn’t understand why the ref had not whistled at 6 minutes past time, and got a bit desperate with that tackle.

I don’t know what he was thinking. But it won’t hurt Switzerland so …

You have to be kidding.

I don’t understand why the hand of Spanish defender touching the ball was not a penalty

I don’t understand why I cannot tell the troll to fuck off. Some nervous mod is not concentrating on the football.

Good for us. We know how to win against France.

We couldn’t watch Germany vs. Spain yesterday, but have watched some of the other one before going to bed (OH watched the whole match)…so it will be France… Definitely not the best team yesterday, at least as far as I could see!! Let’s hope CH will win!

From the BBC

Switzerland are now regarded dark horses to win Euro 2024, posing a serious danger to England, especially if Southgate’s side perform as poorly as they have.

The 2-0 win over Italy was framed in some quarters as being down to the holders’ under-performing. This does a grave disservice to a confident, competent Swiss side under the shrewd leadership of coach Murat Yakin.

It also came on the back of fine display against Germany, when the hosts needed Niclas Fullkrug’s injury-time header to earn a point.

Switzerland have players known to England’s squad too, such as outstanding Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji, former Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka - the driving force behind Bayer Leverkusen’s trophy treble in their unbeaten Bundesliga season - and Newcastle United defender Fabian Schar.

Former Stoke City and Liverpool maverick Xherdan Shaqiri can still make an impact, as Scotland found out, while Remo Freuler has been outstanding in midfield, as has Ruben Vargas on the left.

This well-rounded team has scored seven goals from seven different scorers and the mood was genuinely confident when Yakin addressed the media on Friday night.

He said: "We are in great shape. We have a lot of confidence. We have shown against Germany and Italy we can play against the big teams.

“We played well against the reigning champions, we played well against the hosts. We will cause problems for England.”

England have been warned.. :soccer: :soccer:

The question is whether England can cause problems for Switzerland.

It wasn’t me as I was far too busy watching the match in a bar surrounded by lots of ultimately disappointed Portuguese fans.

Having looked at the post it seems that the mod in question deleted the troll post and chose the ‘delete post and subsequent replies’ option which is a feature of this new forum and yours went with it. It would have been weird to have left it as a standalone comment.

Back to the football. The first match was much more enjoyable to watch than the second one in my opinion and if toast night’s french performance is anything to go by Spain should easily beat them in the semi. The french were dire and didn’t really deserve the win.

Yeah. I am all for Switzerland, but I would not underestimate England. They came back from a game they had already lost. The talk of Switzerland as a favourite is making me nervous.
