Experiences of simplified naturalisation through father

Hi everyone,
I wondered if anybody here had experiences they could share of the simplified naturalisation process through a Swiss father (I’m born pre 2006, my parents weren’t married). It would be particularly helpful if you applied from a foreign consúltate- especially the UK.
I’d love to hear more from people who have gone through this process in terms of the interview, timeframes etc, as there is very little information available that fits these exact circumstances. Most simplified naturalisation seems to be through marriage. Thank you so much in advance to anyone who can share

Welcome to the forum. :slightly_smiling_face:

Do you meet the other requirements?

Thank you! Yes I do meet the other requirements :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi Merlin100, I went through a similar route (also through a Swiss parent, not marriage). I applied via a consulate, and the process was pretty straightforward but slow, taking a bit over a year in total. The interview was quite informal, mostly focused on your connection to Switzerland (language, visits, culture, family ties). Nothing too technical, just making sure your links are genuine. Hope that helps a bit!

Hi Mawiss12,
Thank you so much for sharing your experience, really good to hear from someone who has been through a similar process. Would you say it took a year to hear back from the time of the interview?
Thanks again!
