Eye bag remedy & prevention

I have been working a lot lately, mainly involving the computer, so in some ways it has affected my eyes. I have just realised that recently there's always obvious eye bag in the morning, sometime it stays the whole day no matter what I do to it.

As a remedy, I have tried the typical solutions (e.g. putting cucumber slice, or refrigerated metal spoons onto my eyes), but they worked a little. I have been recently using Weleda Wild Rose eye oil, and still waiting to see the effect.

Anybody want to share their eye bag remedy? And what do you also use for your eye daily care?

I use the Origins GinZng eye cream everyday, and I find that it does provide some good results (in other words, I feel that I look decent enough to step out of the house, despite sleepless nights with my kids). The product apparently depuffs the eyes, tbh I don't think it does that. However, it does brighten the eyes nicely, thus gives the appearance that the eyes are not that puffy.

A tip I was given by an old friend was to use Preparation H! Yea, the haemorrhoid cream . I did try it, as I was desperate to look decent after several sleepless nights (had just given birth). I thought it worked quite well; it does stretch the skin quite a bit.

Oh my own favourite: wear glasses. It is amazing the number of sins you hide when you wear glasses

Have you tried anti hemorrhoid cream, I read some types with LYCD (live yeast cell derivative) work well against wrinkles.

Be careful, and don't get it inside your eye lids though!

.

More sleep.

Seriously.

I'd give it a try with the eye cream if the Weleda product doesn't work.

I also wear glasses, it does help a bit covering the horror

As Clumsy Maman has proved the effect, I might want to try it as well. I don't mind with the wrinkles I just don't want to horrify people and also myself with the eye bag

I wish I could have that luxury at the moment

Just the one?

Actually, I think in the interests of science you should use whatever product you're trying on just one eye, then see (and show us) the difference, if any.

1. Drink more water to stay hydrated.

2. Green tea bags. Place 2 bags in a cup of hot, but not boiling water. Let your tea brew for a few minutes and then remove the bags and let them cool a bit. While still warm, apply to your eyes and leave until they cool, about 10 mins. Rinse and pat dry. Black tea bags work too, but can stain pale skin.

3. Apply moisturizer and makeup with brushes and sponges, instead of your fingers. Use a gentle touch so you're not stretching your skin out of place to put on eyeliner, etc.

4. Cheat with makeup. Don't line your under-eye since that just draws attention to the bags. Instead, line the outer half of your upper lid. It gives the illusion of larger, more open eyes.

5. +1 for glasses.

Sometimes, working a long time on a fixed distance project (ie. computer) one does not blink eyes enough, and tearducts can become blocked.

Holding a hot face-cloth on closed eyelids and massaging gently around the eye relieves any blocked ducts. Your eyes may shed tears during/after this treatment, it means you had blocked ducts, and they should now be cleared.

You may have to repeat this treatment daily.
