I’m a Swiss citizen. I have a Swiss passport and have voted in Swiss elections.
I became a Swiss citizen via facilitated naturalization.
But I never took an oath. Was I supposed to?

No. I also did not.
My Swiss wife had to take an allegiance to the then Queen to get her facilitated British citizenship. Switzerland is not a monarchy.
Nope. I did absolutely nothing apart from pay the bill.
In some cantons like Geneva you needy to take an oath for at least ordinary naturalization
We, as were a couple hundred others, were invited to a big hall in Renens to be greeted by the VD Conseil d’État. All seven of them! At the close of the ceremony we were read the Oath of Citizenship (for Vaud) and asked if we promised to honour it. Je Promets we all said after our names were read out.
So we had a oath for Vaud, but not one for Switzerland.
depends on facilitated naturalisation type and location.
which type did you do, and from which country/canton?
Doesn’t it depend on the tradition in your municipality? We had an ordinary naturalization. Didn’t have any ceremony. This tradition doesn’t exist in our village.
TIS Every Canton does it differently.
This thread has me worried. I am a Brit by “Registration” Does that mean I signed an oath of allegiance to Queen Elizabeth? As a life long republican, am I guilty of treason? or did my commitment end with her passing?
Canton Zurich: no oath, just a bill…
