Farmers Market in Zurich?

Hi guys,

I've just moved to Zurich about a month ago. I'd like to ask if any of you can recommend farmers markets/local markets in Zurich.

So far, I've discovered two farmers market:

1. One on Schwamendingenplatz (every Thursday afternoon)

2. Another one just right after the tram stop 'Gugggachstrasse' (every Friday morning).

Apart from that, I've found two bio-farms with small shops (hofladen). One is called Stadtgmues ( http://www.stadtgmues.ch/hofladen/huebhof/ ) and another unfortunately I don't remember the name but it is almost right next to the first one. They sell fruits, vegetables, eggs, tofu, and sometimes beef.

If anyone could suggest anything else, that would be greatly appreciated. I found those above purely by luck and I'm sure that there are more. I like buying local products and enjoying the atmosphere of farmers market. Thanks!

There is a nice one in Oerlikon on Wednesday and Saturday morning. And another one I like on Bürkliplatz on Tuesday and Friday.

Awesome Thanks, Scipio. I will definitely check them out.

The one in Oerlikon is really very good. Only thing to be aware of is its open till 13:00 hrs though but if you really want some good stuff you shall be there at around 9:00 else

I love the Oerlikon market - but if you want the really good stuff/biggest selection, you gotta be there before sunrise!

Let's not forget the big and nice one on Helvetiaplatz

Mum for years, until 2006, bought her flowers for the balcony there, as well as vegetables and fruit

Not a market but a small store that sells only local products, generally "almost bio" quality, i.e., from farms that are too small to make applying for bio certification a worth while endeavor: nahundfein near Rigiplatz: http://www.nahundfein.ch
