Felgen (wheel rim) repair

Hello all, just a quick one. I am looking to have my rims repaired/polished and the going rate in the Zurich/Zug/Luzern area seems to be around CHF 300/rim for the full service - so basically CHF 1,200 for all 4 rims. I plan to keep my car but in the event that I wanted to sell it, I am just wondering if I am better off buying new rims? The reason I ask is that, afaik, it is illegal to drive on repaired rims in certain markets (such as Germany) and any potential buyer of the car might decide to knock off the cost of new rims to account for that. I have been quoted a price of between CHF 1.4k and 2k for new rims at a few dealers so the cost of new ones, while pricy, is not that much more than the repair.

Does anyone have experience returning a leased car with scratched rims? I'm just trying to get a feel on the type of price knock off you get vs. having them repaired.

Thanks!

Check https://www.reifendirekt.ch/ seems about CHF100 per rim cheaper - but add fitting...

How bad is it? Worse than normal use?

When you say repaired and polished do you actually mean that or rather refurbished/repainted?

Assume safety is a big issue. Will insurance cover you if rims are repaired? MFK?

If the rims are bent or cracked, you're better off replacing them. If the damage is simply cosmetic, for example from brushing against a curb when parking, they can be safely repaired. My garage just over the border in Germany also has a paintshop, and from memory, they charged me about EUR75 per wheel to clean them up cosmetically and respray. The wheels looked brand new afterwards.
