Anybody out there bought their glasses from Fielmann Konstanz. Potential for cost saving compared to Zurich?
I buy glasses in china, top quality below 100. I used to change the lenses in current frames, but I chuckled when I realized I can always buy everything new for much less.
It’s not rocket science to get proper measurement of your head, that’s all the optic workshop has to know to make proper glasses.
I think they need to know a bit more than that. It’s pretty important for them to know what correction you need in the lenses as well.

I didn’t want to “advertise” them. I’ve bought a few times from them already.
Regarding measurement, in addition to lens prescription, “head” measurement can be taken at any optician. My head is irregular, for example, one eye is 2 mm further away from my nose. Not that this has any impact on the lenses I have, but it is surprising how accurate measurement can be nowadays.

I am referring more to lens not the frame.
Can’t you get rough quotes online from Fielmann.de and Fielmann.ch ?
Yes. I shall go to Fielmann Zurich and get a quote for CH and DE but they might not be too happy to do this.
They won’t do it. They are separate businesses.
They explained this to me when I went to Fielmann in Zug and asked them whether they could order some replacement frames in Germany as whilst they were still available there, they were no longer available in Switzerland.
They couldn’t.
