Fine from France without Payment Details

I just got a fine from France, or more accurately, an “Avis de contravention”.

Looks just like the green one here: Vous avez reçu un avis | ANTAI.gouv.fr

That said, there are no details on how to pay - if I goto the site, they ask for a 14-18 digit number & a 2-digit key, which are not on the avis de contravention.

It refers to a “notice de payment” - which I haven’t received…

ideas? Do I just wait?

I’d contact them. Someone told me they received speeding fines from France and the letters were delayed but they still had to pay additional fees for the late payment.

That’s the document I got when the radar got me  It presents the location of radar, measured speed, corrected speed, fine amount if paid within X days, fine amount after X days.

It’s a bit weird that the forgot to include the payment notice/form. Anyway, check this:

The electronic payment number appears on the payment card that accompanies the notice of violation (avis de contravention). If you have lost your payment notice, it is still possible to pay a fine without a telepayment number. This number is located at the bottom left of the fine. It is written in small vertically next to the green rectangle indicating the “amount of the fine”.

  • The electronic payment number is a number made up of 16 digits:
  • All telepayment numbers start with 333
  • The next ten digits are the contravention notice number
  • The next number will be 1 or 2. 1 in case of payment of the fine and 2 in case of deposit
  • The last two numbers correspond to the key
