flat iron (buy in Zurich?)

i want to bring my flat iron to Zurich...

I currently have one pretty cheap and only works in USA, 110v....

need to buy one for 220v... how much will it cost in Zurich (like Sedu, CHI)? are those work for 220 v only?

I had to Google "Flat Iron" I had no idea what you were talking about you mean hair straightner, right? Like this:

You get them very easily here, prices start around Sfr.30.-- they are 220v or you can bring a converter with yours...

But I havent seen a CHI sold here. Get your CHI Iron Guard from the US. I have seen GHD sold on ebay here, but not in shops. Or I am not looking at the right places?

Remington and Babyliss seem to be the more accessible ones here.

Unless your chi is dual voltage, get one here. I saw several in media markt. Probably different brands though.

This is one of those things that you are just going to have to learn to "get over".

Take it from a flat iron addict. If you try to use your US flat iron here EVEN WITH AN ADAPTER, you will burn it up. Trust me.

The flat irons they have here are very skinny compared to US flat irons. The thickest one I found over here in Fust is about 2" wide. The plate is metal, not ceramic. It cost about 50 bucks. 95% of the straighteners you will find here are only 1" wide. Takes a long time to do your hair, but you should just suck it up and get used to it.

go to GLOBUS or to any good hairdressers, they have the great GHD styling iron on stock;-). I always use it and it's just great and works allover the world;-)

I bought a ceramic/tourmaline Babyliss at Interdiscount on aktion for 49 CHF (down from 99). It works great. It is only an inch wide as The Spouse mentioned, but as she also said, using an adapter will make your US flat iron implode.

Going out for a flat iron was my first act in Switzerland. I had it in hand within hours of arrival! I'll admit that my hair is very fine, but it is super thick and using a 1" wide straightener really only takes an extra 5 minutes. Fret not, your hair shall bend to your will!!
