When swiss forum came to be, it was mentioned that a For Sale section similar to what existed on English Forum may be added later.
Back in the old days, I quite liked selling things on EF for a decent price. Any chance we can do that here again?

Iād quite like that as well. But would suggest a few rules so that Mods arenāt overloaded with disputes. For example require all payment by Twint which should weed out non-Swiss resident scammers. All sales as-is with no guarantees implied. Also restrict sales to regular users - for example those with Trust Level 2 or higher.
Bold above indicates an edit.
Would fully support this, and would love to see this! Even if itās only for face-to-face exchanges, but to have somewhere to offload some of the baby furniture that we donāt need anymore.
I would rather bring it to the dump, than put it on ricardoā¦
EDIT: and if thereās a need to help with moderating it, I would happily donate some time to help

Whatās wrong with cash on collection? Having bought items on EF costing over 3k then selling 18 months later, cash worked fine. Interestingly I sold a car to a Polish dealer whose brother was an EF member.
I think it was more a āno bank transfers, paypal or western unionā type paymentsā¦

I not absolutely committed to Twint, just trying to anticipate the problems that could occur. Requiring Trust Level 2 alone could prevent many problems but Iām guessing we would see a lot of discussion about being able to post or not and how to expedite Level 2 etc, etc. But my thoughts are for discussion not firm proposals. What do others think of my ideas?
I would also strongly support a āfor-saleā section, along with āIām giving up my apt. Anyone want to take over?ā type of thingy.
Well, I potentially have two old Price road bikes I might want to offload in March, so any idea on how to make this happen? Not sure what the mod situation is here on Swiss Forum?
Nah, Iād say an explicit disclaimer that this forum takes 0 responsibility over the section would be enough.
Just writing this I got the impulse of creating such dedicated service, itād take little effort to run and little effort to maintain. I donāt know, if it wonāt go away by tomorrow maybe Iāll take the step
There is a lot of scam with Twint on Ricardo, when people get fake QR codes and loose lots money. I donāt think any method is safe and I donāt see a point in limiting payment methods. Buyer and seller should use a common sense to avoid fraud. Of course, mods should delete ads that look like scam, but the responsibility lies with the users.
OK, Thanks. Something to look out for when I use Twint.
Two simple Twint rules: 1) You donāt need a QR code for payments between individuals. 2) Scan codes exclusively with the Twint app.
That way you should be safe.
So there already is a For Sale section on this site, but it has never been opened up for use.
Phil_MCR or other mods⦠would you be willing and or able to open this up?
Hi. Thanks all for the comments. Iāll look into this, but probably will not be for a while as I have some other things to deal with.
What I would like to balance is to have useful feature for users while not having sales posts being too much of the forum.
From EF times, it was a healthy but not overwhelming part of the forum. Iād imagine it would be smaller and more niche here, just like this forum is itself.
The most amusing threads ever were in that section, Nilās car that got sold to Nelly & then came up for sale 2 years later at over twice the price with loads more KM is one I will never forget.
This forum could use a little more humour. A lot of negativity these days.
I find it rather boring, no banter like EF 20 years ago which resembled your local pub on a Friday night, where taking the piss out of your friends was OK.
