Found an Apple AirPod, How to Locate Owner?

Hi All,

I found one half of a pair of Apple AirPods while walking the dog this morning in the Buchs AG area.

I have no way of charging the thing, which might be able to notify the owner that it's been found, so is there somewhere I can list it? Some website or other common way of communicating I've found something lost? Take it to the police (despite the fact that they have real jobs to do)?

Apple has no mechanism that I know of for me to list it as found, try as I might to find it.

If charged the Airpods will show up on 'Find my Phone' if the owner has set that up. So they might possibly find your address on Google maps. Tough if you live in a block or built-up area.

But there is no way in the other direction. The pods can only be charged in the box too...

If you don't succeed, is it by any chance for the left ear? I'm profoundly deaf in my right ear and buying a full set is defeatist for me.

If you don't manage to find the owner, and it's a left-ear piece, please let me know as I would be interested in relieving you of it :-)

And what are you going to do with a single air pod without charging case (which is also necessary for the bluetooth pairing)?

Just leave it where it is or maybe put it somewhere easier to see but close by. The owner would most likely retrace his steps when he realises its go e.

Thanks, I don't think it's charged, it doesn't show up in any way on my phone, but I'm not sure it would normally.

Perhaps it is, perhaps the owner set things up correctly. I hope they did.

Sorry Traubert, it's for the right ear, and it's without a case...

Perhaps that's what I'll end up doing. It was on the side of a farmer's field (which describes about 60% of the paths around here), in the grass, and wasn't there yesterday.

We'll find out! Hopefully it's the Disney-fied version and not the older, darker, bloodier, more murderous original version of the story...

It won't show up in any way on your phone. To pair the device would require the case.
