Hello Fellow forumers!
We're looking for a good school in Luzern to send our 4 year old daughter. We've had a look at the website for the Four Forest Bilingual school. Does anybody here have any experience with the school, quality, value for money, curriculum etc. I would be happy to hear from anybody with kids there currently
Many thanks
My kids went there for the finish of the school year we arrived here.
In itself the school is great, great principles etc. BUT - in our time the german was not really taught nor encouraged. In the end we decided that the kids should go to the local school (oh ... what does one say now as we suffered bullying to the EXTREME) but at the same time my kids learnt german and have not needed to go to UK or AUS etc to continue university studies. They could do it all here.
In itself - the school is good - but is this the right way. would love to know where you live and I could probably give you better advice.
good luck anyways - it can be really really tough (life changing even)
I had Russian friends send their son there. They were happy with the academic focus. He's outgrown the school, they stop at grade 6 but overall, the parents liked the school. I'll put in a plug for the other international school we attend in Cham. ISOCS... take a look at their Facebook or website for details.
Check out the Montessori school in Luzern also. It's a really lovely school and even though English is not the emphasis there, its a good way to integrate better into the local community. Both for your daughter and yourselves.
I used to co-teach with a swiss teacher who works there. She was fabulous, and is fabulous I'm sure :-)
