Hello has anyone used a 'mail holding' address service in France and can recommend one. I want to have a parcel sent there to pick up so would prefer it near Basel (im in Zurich). But saying that anywhere in France would be ok.
There is a lot in Germany I have discovered. But I want France
Thank you
You can use post restante at the post office in France.
Otherwise there are lots of places offering the service, often newsagents or other small stores.
Poste restante +1, but not too big. 4-5kg or less.
Try Germany. Las Burg. We've been using it for years.

He said he specifically wants France.
Yes, but EF always knows better than the OP.
See if the sender is willing to use a service such as Mondial Relay or Relais Colis. They deliver to a list of places (small shops, newsagents, etc.) and you collect from there with proof of identity and the package number. Usually cheaper than the post and almost as quick. This is presuming the sender is in France, Belgium, or (possibly) Spain.
Otherwise there's Colissimo or Chronoposte and ask that the parcel to be kept poste restante at the french post office nearest to you.
Might not be useful, but some supermarkets like Carrefour on Italian side have Amazon boxes that you can use to deliver stuff for later pick up
