French intensive courses in Vevey

Hi all, I have had a good search around but couldn't find any recommendations. I'm looking for an intensive French class in Vevey starting this summer. I'm level B1 but very rusty and need to do a lot of work. I have seen the lists of schools on the Vaud website but a personal recommendation would be helpful. I know the Migros do decent classes but the nearest one is in Lausanne and it's too much of a trek each day on the train

Thanks.

Why don't you ask the Nestle HR? I'm sure they have a few corporate discounts and suggestions

I don't work for Nestle but I'm sure they fund courses for their people. I might just email them and ask who they use....good idea.

I would do an immersion week or more at the many summer camps that cater to this in France. Much cheaper and better quality in my experience. Although it probably caters to young adults, any age and ability is possible. Staying with a family was also possible.

Sleeping dictionary maybe ?

I’ve no experience with this school, but it looks interesting:

Here’s the cantonal site:

Even the municipality should have a list of places that might suit your needs.

Sorry, just assumed that in Vevey every expat works for Nestle or has a Nestle partner. Have a good weekend!

Hi!

the train between Vevey and Lausanne is hardly a trek.. It goes direct and takes you through one of the most beautiful sites in the world. Hence the XL windows they have installed on the carriages. Some people would kill for a view like that each morning.

A long long time ago I was sucking the Nestlé t*t and therefore received a 5k budget for classes, but you have to still find your own school. They won't really help you. I have tried immersion in Montpellier FR, but had bad luck since I was put in a class with some bored teens. Felt like high school again, but in a bad way (never been a jock).

My best experience so far was online classes with Italki which I have been doing consistent over 5 years (I am at C1 now). Much easier to change to a tutor who fits your style, easier to book, super flexible and you could just book 8 hrs a day if you can suffer it!

I hadn't considered online but it might just be the best option. One to one tuition without the cost of doing it in person. I'll definitely look into it thanks!

Commonly known as "Nescaffs"

Highly, highly recommend L'institute Fazel in Lausanne centre. I went for six years, yes, six years, because my goal was to be able to be fluent enough to go to a particular wine school near Nyon which was conducted in French.

Today I am a vigneronne, live in France, own a vineyard, have five French employees and conduct my entire life in French.

I owe it all to the school in Lausanne. They don't play around. They will have you writing essays by week three. (They will not be very good essays, mind you), but they really know how to get you to focus on your weaknessess and run with your strengths.

Just go have a chat with them to scope things out. You will be impressed by their professionalism.

That sounds like a great recommendation....thanks!
