From Singapore in Luzern

Hi,

I came across EF when I was first here but was too busy settling in to contribute.

I am from Singapore and has been in Switzerland for a few months. Has enjoyed the Autumn, the snow in winter and now spring bloom.

So far I have enjoyed my stay being right in the centre of Switzerland. Language is still a huge problem Food is great, does most of my own cooking though I miss some of the simple Singapore fares. If anybody is interested in having some chinese food or Sheperd's Pie, I am able to cook pretty well

Or if anybody is interested in practising their Chinese, look for me

Cheers!

Hi Vivien!

I'm from Singapore as well but I'm living in Zürich. A warm welcome to you and it is indeed getting warmer!

I have a couple of Malaysian friends who live in Luzern so if you like to have some contacts then just PM me for details.

Have fun & enjoy the impending summer months!

Cheers,

Rodney

Hi...

greetings from your neighbour... living in luzern too

Welcome to Luzern, the funnest place in CH

Nice!!! I'm in the town centre at least once week

Yes, I totally agree Luzerne is great place to be.

Hi there Vivien!

welcome and nice to see another Singaporean close by.. I'm in Basel and have met quite a few other Singaporeans here already.

Been here for about half a year already, and enjoying it lots. Hope you are too and do give a shout out if you come up to Basel.

Welcome!

Unfortunately my Chinese is even worsy than my German.... but I would like to wish you the best! It is a great country to live.

Hi there, love Singapore..one of my favorite places!! Yummi food, the Orchid gardens, warm and clean..

Enjoy Luzern,

Thank-you everybody for the warm reception. Now, I don't feel so isolated.

Good to know that there're quite a number of people from the tiny island here and people that enjoy the tiny island of Singapore.

We should have a Singapore day in Switzerland ...

there sort of is a Singapore day in Switzerland - in the form of the National Day celebrations that the Permanent mission in Geneva organizes every year.

Only problem is that it is in Geneva - so it is a long "commute" to go to Geneva for a day from the German speaking side.

An email will come by if you are registered with the Temasek Club here to let you know when that happens (usually on a weekend 1 or 2 weeks before Aug 9)

Oh, that sounds like fun .. anyway, its not so bad to travel up to Geneva. Only a 2 hr drive for me on the highway .. shall go and register myself then ...
