From Zürich to Herrliberg where can I research tax savings?

Hello,

I moved to from Zürich, Seefeld a very high tax area to Herrliberg, a very low tax area.

Could any one lead me towards where I can research my tax savings please?

Thank you!

C.

Assuming you are not on quellensteuer, Comparis

I am EU with B permit. Tax is withheld at source. I am just looking to know for my info. Thanks.

Have a look here:

Thank you very much!

Beim Wechsel des Wohnorts von Zürich nach Herrliberg nimmt die Steuerbelastung um ---- CHF oder 16.9% ab.

Oh Wow, if this info is accurate I will be saving 16.9% per annum taxwise. Plus 300 bucks a year for parking in the blue zone. My health insurance decreased of 34.- per month so did the car insurance, liability insurance and I got a flat with a private yard, minutes walking distance from the lake for the cost of a room in the city where my dog is happy. Sweet!

Thanks a lot for your help my dear Prof. Taratonga.

You won't though, as long as you are being taxed at source.

What do you mean? Will I or will I not save these taxes??

The fact I am being taxed at source should not exclude me from saving if the town I have moved into has lower taxes...this doesn't make any sense?

Tax at source are cantonal!

http://www.comparis.ch/steuern/quell...r/default.aspx

Which is why I stated to check Comparis if you aren't on Quellensteuer (tax at source).

Quellensteuer is set at a Kantonal level - and is approximately the tax you would pay at that gross salary amount across the kanton. It uses an effective deduction - and then an escalating rate.

You can ask for a tax return - fill it out - and pay the applicable tax for your community. However, if you aren't too good with German and/or don't understand what you should put where - and what you can deduct you may find this harder than you think.

Except if you earn above the EF poverty level (120k), then you have to fill a return anyway.

And for this year you are still a tax residence of Zurich city.

Oh, in most cases regular tax for City of Zurich is higher than tax at source. (Because tax at source is based on the cantonal mean and Zurich is above the mean)

Tax Question: Changing Commune in Canton Zurich

Oh my!! I see..OK will try.

Thanks

Even if you are doing a swiss tax declaration, since you are also paying Amercian tax (according to the other thread you started today), all the money you save with Herrlibergs lower tax will be given to Uncle Sam.

depends on how much you earn...

And you might even have nice people such as Mr Blocher as a neighbour.

What more do you need to be happy?

I guess!

Viva Dio, Aleluyah! What can I can say?

Those living on behalf of Uncle Sam's Cheese and food stamps driving a BMA and getting housing are much better off these days.

Thanks.

Yes, I understand that it depends on the earning however aren't we expected to file no matter what the income? I mean uncle Sam wants to know how much his kids are earning anyways or not?

This is my first year here so better safe than sorry.

Didn't you read the rest of this? I got overly excited too soon. I may end up paying it all and more to my Uncle Sam.

While Mr. Blocher will be happy next door drinking Gluehwine!

There is a missing tag here: Taxes.
