Fun stuff for Toddlers on weekends

Hi there,

Our 3 year old son spends all day with a lovely MDJ but she doesn't do much to stimulate him. My OH and I work long hours in Geneva and Fribourg repectively so it's hard for us to take him to activities during the week.

Does anyone know of fun stuff to do for toddlers in Lausanne/ Mont sur Lausanne at the weekends? In the UK there are so many things to choose from but here I am getting nowhere....

I'm thinking either gymboree or music lessons?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

is there a local aquarium? My boy's around the same age as your child and he went mad pointing at fish last weekend.

Can't you task the nanny with structuring a more stimulating day? If she's worth her salt she'll be able to factor in at least one "interesting" event each day.

You can then find out your son's favourite activities and repeat them at the weekends.

I have struggled to find activities for my son as well. I know there's a kinder musik group in Lausanne but I haven't been to it myself. There is also a place called Kids Up ( http://www.kidsup.ch/ ) that I've heard good things about. It looks like they have some Saturday classes for your son's age. Again I haven't been to it myself so just going on what others have told me.

I struggled to find group activities for little ones in the week, let alone at the weekends and we always ended up bundling our son in the car and taking him off to castles and on train rides instead. For indoor soft play not too far from you I can recommend Urba Kids in Orbe for a rainy Saturday. Kidspace in Lausanne also do activities. For other ideas the website www.loisirs.ch has recently published some good guides (in French) with ideas on picnic spots, walks with kids and best playparks to go to in Suisse Romande. Lots of inspiration in there.
