I am looking for German classes. My schedule is bit tight, planning to manage with work. One tutor approached me she said 50CHF per hour . I am not sure if it's too much or reasonable . Does any one know any cheaper German classes here in Zurich or one to one video session private tutors..?? Migro school said 700CHF for every Saturday from Sept to Nov. I am looking for the cheapest as I jus started to earn in Swiss salary and still no clue how much I could save or how much should I spend etc
For cheapest lessons look for lessons over skype with tutor based in other countries.
Also, if you can / want do some self learning you can check https://www.duolingo.com/ out.
You can also try Babbel, a bit more interactive than Duolingo. I reached mid-A2 with that, then I switched to proper courses.
Being it online it will help a lot with a tight schedule, but for the same reason it may be easier to say “nah today I skip” more often than you should, and end up with small progress.
PS: just realized you also opened https://www.englishforum.ch/other-ge…man-class.html of course I was giving here the same opinion…
…maybe one thread is enough? ![]()
I can't emphasize how much steeper my learning curve has become since I changed to Busuu.
Another option is to find an online teacher via the app italki. You find everything from native speakers wanting to make a few bucks by helping someone interested in their language, to highly educated language professors and everything in between. Price varies according to which teacher you choose.
It's a great option for practicing conversation, but also for receiving feedback on written pieces. You can of cause also find teachers who do traditional school book teaching there too. The point with italki is that you have it tailored to you, without being overly expensive.
Happy studying!
Thank you so much each one of you🥰
