Getting C permit with recently made RAV german exam (although I got a new job now) instead of needing to do a similar exam.

Dear all,

I am now employed with a great job now thanks to lots of hardwork (and some luck :D). However, I was on RAV for 3 months and during this period, did a german comprehensive exam where I got the B2 level.

I have the paper to apply to the C permit and it states that I only need A2 level. Although the RAV exam is not officialy recognized (i dont know why, it was fricking 4 hours duration), can I try to apply with the RAV exam and try my luck? Or do you think its not worth it at all?

Could a more comprehensive migration person accept it? After all, I had B2 in a state provided comprehensive exam and only need A2

Thanks in advance for any help!

Welcome!

I doubt they will accept it as the requirements are quite clear but why not call your Gemeinde and ask them?

Consider taking the SDS exam, more info here:

I guess you can convert it to FIDE for a little fee, ~30 CHF. They have an option to apply for FIDE certificate based on proof of existing practical language competency, for example letter from the employer that you’re using the language at work
