Maybe a long shot, but anyone know where to get rid of this stuff near Allschwil. There’s normally a weekly green bin collection, but now I have a whole truckload to get rid of after cutting down a tree.
Nope but ask a professional gardener. They usually also have loads of that and can’t wait for the green collection.
Allschwil apparently have shredderdienst where they come to yours. I’d give them a call
Btw, how did you manage to chop down a tree while doing your tax return? That is some multitasking…
Never hear of child labour?
That said, @Phil_MCR , call the Umwelttelefon under 061 486 25 93 (office hours unknown). You probably need one or more 800 liter containers, they cost 20 each. Possibly in combination with their shredder service (4 CHF per minute from the 11th minute).
Unfortunately, I have no containers. I wonder if they have some to rent? Unfortunately, the branches are too thick for the shredder service.
That’s what it looks like to me, they let them. Just don’t ask me if they deliver.
However since the shredding service might just as well include delivery (no additional effort), and because the first ten shredding minutes are free, I’d guess that delivery is free as well. An additional question will be how much manpower you need to handle the un-shreddable blocks. Anyway that’s what the phone call is for.
Come to think of it, wood is good for the cheminee, your neighbors might be interested (just a guess).
The shredder comes every month. You just stick the branches out with a container and they come round and shred stuff on-site.
The 20Fr. is the cost to empty an 800L container. We used to have one at a flat I rented.
Such containers are not cheap in Switzerland:
Now the advert I saw offering a pretty battered and broken container doesn’t look so silly any more!
Burn it!
I was told if you tie them up with string in a neat bundle they will take them with the green bin collection. might be worth a try
I got some info apparently you can drop off at SRS for 160 Fr. per tonne.
Careful, freshly cut wood may not be burnt in the garden, it develops too much smoke. Not sure if Phil wants to wait until it’s dry (not to mention it rains all the time).
Neighbours can call the police …
You refuse to call a professional gardener who could give you the answer in minutes? Or are we just to discuss the problem for the future expats?

Got rid of it all today. It took 3 trailer loads and was 800KG of stuff in the end!
Great. But let’s face it: You do owe us the info of how you got rid of it
I mentioned above. SRS (swiss recycling centre) take it for 160 Fr. per tonne.
