Hi I am relatively new to Zurich, moved here this week but spent most of March and April in the city for a transition period with work. Not to sound like a meathead, which I`m not, but I was wondering if anyone knows where one could buy protein powder, vitamins, supplements, etc. Is there anything like a GNC in Zurich?
Thanks,
Kev
I don't know what GNC is like but I've found these two stores. I'm not into food supplements but I hope these addresses will do until somebody can provide first hand experience.
Eiweiss GmbH
Villar Sporternährung
Thanks for the reply and the information. GNC is basically a store that sells a wide range of vitamins and other health supplements. I will check out these stores and see if they have protein, worst case I can buy it at the gym.
Have you tried the local gyms or online GNC shops? Go to the thread:
[ordering online [customs value limits?]](http://www.englishforum.ch/finance-banking-taxation/10793-ordering-online-customs-value-limits.html)
Usually it is cheaper to buy such stuff from the US and pay the clearance
Jacek thanks for the tip and that thread offered some useful information
have a good weekend
You are welcome! Have a great weekend too
This might also be of interest.
There's also www.SportFitness.ch
And www.xfit.ch
I buy my whey protein in bulk for under US$10/lb from www.trueprotein.com in California, but I think the bulk price savings would be more than offset by the cost of shipping from California to CH.
Hope that helps!
The upstairs floor in Jelmoli's has some protein powder/recovery shakes/etc. I have been to GNCs in the states, and its nothing like that, but worth giving it a look.
You can try the website:
http://www.swiss-supplements.ch/
They sell many of the products that you can find at GNC.
There is shop called 'XXX Fitness' (i know it sounds wierd with the 'xxx' in the name)
I buy my stuff from there
another shop is near the bahnhof Weidikon..in front of the Credit Suisse building..
You will not get some of the supplements in Zurich (like the BSN products etc) you have to order it online. I havent had to pay any extra duty..let me know if you want to know which site i buy it from.
Thanks for the XXX Fitness option, I will take a trip on Saturday to see what they have.
Thanks for the XXX Fitness option, I will take a trip on Saturday to see what they have. I usually just buy multi vitamins and whey protein so I am hoping that they will have what I need
I order my stuff from
www.vnfnutrition.com
They are good, but you need to know what you want. Pictures are not there usually.
Highly recommended.
In fact, thanks for reminding me. I just placed an order for 300usd, do this while USD is cheap.
:P
Maximuscle who are based in the UK deliver to Switzerland. Not cheap stuff but very good quality.
The shops in Fitnesspark (Gym operated by Migros) sell that kind of stuff,
check the website for locations

This site is good but the supplements are expensive.
If you are going to buy more than one you can order online from the US.Online turns out to be cheap (including the postage) particularly when the dollar is so low. The goods are delivered in 1 week.
I got a BSN stack(3 supplements) for around 200 chf....
I usually order from www.evitamins.com
For NYKev...did you find a store that sells GNC-like products? I will be Zurich 3 July - 19 July and would like to find a place that sells supplements. I'm currently using BSN, but I know the likelyhood of finding that there is slim and I don't want to carry it with me. Air travel is enough of a pain as it is. Any info you have would be much appreciated. Thanks
I am going to take a trip to the XXX Fitness Shop this weekend to see how it is and what they have. I will keep an eye out for BSN. The Swiss Supplement site has lots of products and they do ship to Zurich. Also, at the Migros Fitnesse Park in Stockerstrasse I was able to buy protein but it was CHF 54 for 750 g. So I am looking at ways to get the most protein for the least francs
Right on.
I'll check it out when I get there. I use the gym at Activ fitness in Central when I'm there. Do you know if that store is close by?
