MobileVoip is a pretty good app, however you need an account on one of most of the websites listed here . I personally use MegaVoip, as it has some of the lowest rates for the places that I text and call.
Hmm how come? I've never really had any issues with it. Though I mostly sent SMS from their online page, but I do use the app on a regular basis when my phone is blocked.
No app that your grandmother doesn't have? Eh? So, you don't want to pay the 10rp or whatever it is to just send a text, you don't want it to involve an app at both ends, but you want it free or close to free.
Really? Well I just downloaded it for free elsewhere, so you know
Are you using a swiss account? Sometimes that is the problem - you're trying to buy in a store which does not correspond to the country where you registered your account.
Dear Adrian...I am writing this post seeing the beanbag from you so I am not going to be mean
It is not about the app because in order to have the app a smartphone is required. Plus the knowhow needed to use an app...missing with most of the grandmothers
I said sms in CH (15 rp) and other countries (22 rp) so it is not 10 rp. (my Sunrise plan).
I also said cheap sms (the word free was next to a smiley because of course I would not mind...who would).
Whatsapp is free for the first year, then it cost a penitence after that, I guess.
heard a rumor that is being categorically denied by all parties... Facebook looking to buy Whatsapp.
I just loaded Vonage mobile, and it texts/sms's for free to others who have the app on their phone pretty good so far, no matter if in the states or in Europe. It is suppose to have free calling as well, but heard it's not very clear from other users, I haven't tried it yet.
