Without question they gave her the 50% “lifetime discount” starting immediately. So if you are with CoopMobile it’s worth a call…
Sounds like they’re picking up the sneaky tricks from the UK. This entry discount scheme which excludes existing customers has featured a few times on consumer programmes.

Not only in the UK. It was the same here too for a long time.
We have just moved our kids from Coop Mobile to Go-mo. The only good thing of Coop Mobile is that they data bundles do not expire. You can buy a certain amount of data and use it in your own tempo. Their Abos prices are not competitive, even with a discount.
The way around that is to ring up and tell them you want to cancel your contract because you’ve found a cheaper offer elsewhere.
They’re very keen to make an ‘exception’ and give you the discount then.
If it’s a 2-year contract, you cannot cancel when you want.
