I have some folks from Ireland visiting in a few weeks, and would like to have a few decent restaurants to bring them to.....any ideas welcome...
Otherwise I can recommend two Italians, "La Stella" in Pully and "Le Grotto" in Lausanne or the restaurant "la Poste" in Lutry which serves traditional food (filet de perche, filet de boeuf etc.)
Enjoy

Some ones I could recommend myself would be:
-Les Trois Rois below the station for a non-expensive but very good traditional meal. The Café de Paris steak is great. Great place, done in a 20's style, very friendly staff.
-Café de l'eveché near the cathedral for great fondue.
-Chinatown in the centre for a good value chinese in nice surroundings.
Good luck
You can check out the menu, prices, etc. on their website. http://www.lejava.ch/
Reservations recommended.
For a very Swiss experience, I'd recommend grabbing a roesti or fondue with them at La Pinte Besson, Rue de l'Ale 4, which is in the middle of town. It's the oldest pub in the city and has a great atmosphere (complete with the regulars who come every night and sit and the bar and drink wine. I always seem to end up deep in conversation with them at the end of the night. ) I'd recommend going in the middle of the week: because it's so small, it becomes very loud and smoky when the weekend crowd comes in. There's no harm in reserving a table.
Bon appetit!
