Good sushi in Lausanne?

Hello!

I read the old post about sushi in lausanne and it was missing this restaurant:

MIYAKO beau-rivage hotel

Has anyone been there or knows if it's good through friends? I initially wanted to book the one in Lausanne palace (zen sushi) but they're closed on mondays and sundays.

Being from California I have been disappointed at quality of casual sushi in Lausanne, now I'm having a hard time trusting the online reviews on swiss sites! I'm worried that I'll spend a lot of money for sushi that I could find in a box at a supermarket in Cali. If you think the fancy places will also have super-market quality sushi I'll just give up on this

Any other suggestion is welcome!!

Try the Myo Sushi on the esplanade, in front of the Tribunal Cantonal, in Montbenon (just west of Lausanne Palace). Better view to the outside, and south to lake, less chi-chi than the Lausanne Palace and the Beau Rivage.

Sorry but I can't agree with this... been there several times and always ended my visit in the loo. Also the nori they use for their sushi is like rubber!

A couple of my friends were sick after eating there. Shame as the location is good.

I have not eaten there in several years, but when it first opened it was quite good, esp in summer when outside seating available. Great location. Sorry to hear the news about the quality.

It's indeed a pity because as you said, it's a great location and the decor is nice.

I can't recommend any sushi restaurants in Lausanne (and am not surprised given the fact it's a small city in the middle of Europe), but I've always eaten well at L'Ao. When you make a reservation ask for a window seat. The cuisine is modern, the service pretty good.

In all my years in Lausanne I have not set foot in there - thanks for the heads up.

I ended up choosing Le Miyako, in hotel Beau-Rivage Palace after reading a lot of good reviews on iTaste. (also sushi zen was closed on mondays, though I've never tried that either.)

It was very expensive and the quality was like supermarket sushi in Cali. I gave up on sushi in Lausanne.

We go to Ichi-ban in Ouchy. Its not cheap but the quality and service are good.

The best I had from Lausanne was from http://www.lekotchi.ch/

I dont know if they have a restaurant or not. I think it is more of a store. We ordered some for a party and it was pretty good for Switzerland...

The oriental mish-mash restaurant that is part of the multiplex cinema in the Flon does sushi; its hand made, per order, in front of you, so you get a nice sense of quality.

Oh, and it’s served on a wooden boat. Oh yes - a boat made out of wood. If that’s not a recommendation i literally have no idea what else could make you want to eat there.

Uchitomi in Lausanne is also good for sushi on the go as well as all your Japanese grocery needs http://www.uchitomi.ch/
