I got 24 CHF fine from DIE POST for having my mailbox full!
The thing is that I stopped moving out all the commercial magazines, but there have always been a place for an envelope...
Seems unfair to me.

And attach a note to the mailbox that says "Bitte keine Werbung"

Well I thought that if I have place only for envelopes, they will stop putting all these tonnes of commercial magazines in...
It seems unfair to me that I have to move them out, then put them tidily all together and then track the day when I can finally get rid of them.

Much of the time, commercial magazines are posted by 3rd parties who couldn't care less whether your letter box is full or not. If it is so stuffed that a postman can't post a letter, then he is unable to fulfil his function. Get a damn sticker and clear out your letter box.
Hate to break it to you, but that sticker won't do diddly. I've got one and my post box needs emptying daily as it's so full of crap.
It only applies to commercial ads. Not to newspapers, and not to things that are personally addressed to you (like the Coop newspaper). If you want no newspapers too, then you need a note that says
Bitte keine Werbung
Bitte keine Zeitungen
If your postman is still dumping crap in your mailbox (after you've got notes up not to), go down to your local office and complain.
You can type it up on your computer, print it out, and tape it to your box.

Works for us. The only magazines we get are the ones we subscribe to or get as Migros Club, TCS members etc. We get the odd flyer from mediums and the like, but that's about it as far as unsolicited mail goes.
It's mainly ads telling me they'll buy my car, or about local kebab shops. I collect the newspapers so I can compete with the neighbours at who can wrap them the most neatly in string. I would complain, but then that would be really Swiss.

At least you don't do what one of our neighbours does, takes them out and dumps them on the ground under the mail boxes.
