Hello EF's,
Recently, my new bicycle got stolen and I'm now looking for a new "machine" and at the same time I'm wondering if you can propose any GPS tracker for the bicycle which could tell me next time where is my "machine" if it will get stolen.
Any recommendations?
PS: I had insurance so nothing big happened but next time I would like to known who's ass to kick and give it to the police
I'm not really convinced that an "add-on" GPS tracker would be of any help. Any competent bike thief would be looking for the tracker first thing and chuck it away. IMO, tracker is useful only if it has been "built-into" the bike making removal difficult.
Theres a load of different types around, but probably best are ones you drop down your seat tube or push into the bars as they aren't that obvious then.
Can only think of Sherlock off the top of my head
How's the tracker accuracy when it is inside the tube/bar?
This Sharlock
https://www.sherlock.bike/en/ looks really good.
It can be installed in the bicycle bars so shouldn't be so obvious for the thief that there is GPS tracker installed. I might get one for myself....
as good as outside the tube/bar.
Think about this: police and the likes hide gps to track suspect cars by placing one below the chassis ...
