Greetings from Krugersdorp, South Africa!

Hi all

I've been a lurker on this forum for quite some time, finally scraped together the courage to register today

Some details about myself: I am a 20-year-old IT student (soon to be 21) living in Krugersdorp, South Africa. My native language is Afrikaans, though I'm fluent in English with some rudimentary German knowledge, which I'm currently busy improving. I am very interested in Switzerland and will be spending a few days in Zürich and Geneva in November/December on holiday to check out the lay of the land. If I like the lifestyle I'm going to try my best to emigrate to Switzerland, as the future in South Africa looks bleak at times

Hope to see you around!

Welcome !

What area of IT are you in or are you a full time student ?

Thanks

I'm currently a full-time student, however I will be doing my honours next year in networks and security. If the opportunity presents itself, I will be completing a masters degree in Network Forensics the year thereafter.

welkom...

Dankie

I am extremely excited about the prospect of living in Switzerland, hopefully this dream will become a reality soon

As for the world cup, it's tons of fun Forced to support Germany now, as South Africa and Switzerland are already out of the running

Hey welcome! I'm from Krugersdorp too )) I've been in Switzerland since 2001. Let me know if you come to Zurich at all!

Awesome! What're the chances of hearing from two people who lived in Krugersdorp within 20 minutes? Astounding!

I'm most definitely coming to Zürich at the end of the year for a quick reconnaissance vacation (landing at Zürich airport on the 26th of November, leaving for Geneva on the 1st of December) and it seems to be the place to go if I ever manage to emigrate there
