Grocery shelves empty because of oil crunch?

I noticed recently that more than 3 denners no longer had hair moose. Same with at least 2 smaller coops. brand that coop had was like CHF 15, for a smallish can. have not checked out migros, yet … on the list … had to bite the bullet at coop …

No shortage of hair spray …

Anyone else notice items related to “oil” missing or in short supply at grocery stores?

Did not know that they come with hair nor that Denner has 'em.

A moose once bit my sister.

Didn’t live in a windmill though.

Notice that coop has not been stocking tubes of liver paste for months. Even though it is a local product. Hope they dont put oil in it.

It’s more probably supply-chain issues with the aluminium packaging for these products.

Edit: A quick google shows this assumption is correct:

LAUSANNE, Switzerland, April 21 (Reuters) - The global aluminium market is experiencing a “black swan” event as disruptions due to the Middle ‌East war trigger a supply shock that will lead to major shortages this year, according to the top metals analyst at commodity trader Mercuria.

The region accounts for about 7 million metric tons of annual aluminium smelting capacity, or roughly 9% of the estimated global supply this year. Aluminium is a key material for the transport, construction and packaging industries.

I hope it doesn’t get too bad - the traditional Swiss breakfast of a Marlboro and a can of Red Bull won’t be the same with just the Marlboro.

I didn’t know mousse was still a thing. It’s all hair serums these days, especially with long hair.

Or Swiss retailers are a bit weird.

There was scarcity of Thomy mayonnaise for several weeks due to price disagreements. MIgros/Coop push producers for lower prices, customers keep paying the same price, the net margin of the shops go up.

If the producers don’t accept, the products are removed from shelves. Miracles happen, this is totally legal. No one is abusing their position.
