Gym in Zurich Enge

I just moved to Zurich and am living near the Sihl City mall (Enge area). Does anyone know a gym around here? The only one I have been able to find is Asia Spa at Sihl City but that is probably the most expensive gym in Zurich...don't really want to sign up there.

Most gyms in the city, especially with 'wellness' areas, are fairly pricey but there are a couple with sub-1000CHF a year prices. Activ Fitness is pretty decent, and they have gyms all over the city. Of course you won't get the 'spa' of Asia Spa, but you get good free weights and equipment. Most of them will give you a free pass to see if you like it, or at least a trial afternoon.

wait for december-january as the gyms come up with discount offers, but they wont go below 600chf. thats the cheapest i saw for "activ fitness" at stauffacher. enge has stockerhof and charges 1200/year.

Having said that I've been a member at Asia spa for many years and I can recommend it.

From looking around, it seems to be mostly 'court' sports like basketball. There's a fencing club too!

@iome -do you know if they do classes as well at asia spa? moving next to shil city as well as of january and looking for a gym..Ive been there in the past but never checked if they do spinning classes etc, many thanks

There is Kiesertraining in the little road after the bridge coasting the river.

There is also a gym in Binzstrasse which is about 10 mins by foot from Sihlcity but do not know the name.

Stockerhof Migros Gym is good. I was also a member there. Luxor Sports would also be a possibility - not as crowded.

I wouldn't go to the asia spa as the gym is a very small part of it.

Probably in Zurich to join a sport club or gym can be affordable if you get a reduction from your Health insurance company. For example from CSS you could get a list from all the gyms where you get a reduction up to 40%. So from this perspective the price / distance / equipment / services can start to be very different and range to very good equipment for a very cheap price....

If you do not get this info from you Insurance company, the probably other option is a reduction card, there are many options in Zurich.

But also try not only the gym but the sports open air, which are more popular...
