Is it too late given term has started? Anybody's kids successfully transferred between gymnasiums.
My daughter wants to transfer between the gymnasium she is has just started at to a more local one [long story why she didn't en-role in the local one].
Probably very much depends on space at the local one and the goodwill of the administration and the reasons. I would first contact the local gymi, then you will know, if they are even willing.
Transfers from one Gymi to another are theoretically possible, but usually done at the end of a school year, and within the same Canton (not sure if there's a cantonal border between your two schools).
Transfers during the year, as swisscanmom said, depends on the individual schools.

Talking Zurich experience- yes it's possible but depends on the Gymi and the reasons etc. Your best bet is to contact the Rektorat of the Gymi you want to transfer to and either explain your request or ask for an appointment to discuss it.
In my child's class someone transferred in in January.

Its possible. Typically happens though at the start of the year or at the midterm point (February). Also she may have to do probezeit again in the new Gymi.
In Vaud, you had to request the transfer before the school year started. I'm not sure you will have any luck now. But no harm in asking.
Just posting an update, in Vaud and yes she got a transfer after term started.
