gyms focusing on Courses [Zurich]

Hello everyone!

With new year resolutions I would like to start in the gym.

From my previous experiences, when I join a gym and I do my own workout routine I end it quite bored after a couple of months ...

I have never tried any kind of courses. Spninning, stepping, body pump, zumba ...

I would like to give it a try to this and sign for a gym where I will just attend to courses couple of times per week. I had a look to Silhouette and it seems to have a quite interesting schedule of courses. The impression I had after visiting their "Forum" premises yesterday is that it is overcrowded.

Does anyone know if it is common not able to attend a course because the class is full ?

Is there any other recomendations of gyms with good offer of courses in Zurich ?

Thanks in advance,

The ones from Migros offer classes as well as Holmes Place but they all have the same principles: once the class is full you cannot attend. So you have to be early for certain popular classes in order to secure a space.

More infos on Migros Fitnessparks can be found here http://www.fitnesspark.ch/ and for Holmes Place here http://www.holmesplace.ch/en-ch/club...ess.Zurich.php

Perhaps I am responding prematurely as I haven't read any responses yet.

It is quite common that the month of January sees a peak in gym membership enrollments which also means that overcrowding also occurs in January. This, as with you, is due to New Year's Resolutions.

Keep with it. Don't let the crowds get you down.

Most of the New Year's Resolution crowd will stop going to the gym by the end of January to the middle of February, and by March, the crowds will be back to normal limits.

You have two options. The first one is to Wait, which I don't recommend if your motiviation is to go NOW.

Your second option is to ARRIVE EARLY and stake out your spot in the studio. This will ensure that you have your space and can make your workout. It will still be crowded, but at least you won't have to worry about not getting in.

Good luck!!!!

I really like the migros fitnesspark (on top: Pulse 5 and Stockerhof). They have a good selection of courses, but it is true you need to arrive early to be sure to go in.

But the best part for me is the nice sauna and hot pool area. So if you are late for the course just go on the thread-mill by yourself and then indulge in the hot tub.
