I got all import tax papers done with the household freetax application. Now I still have the car on the old country plates and running on that insurance. If I ask an export cert from the old country, I get stuck with the car that can't be driven for inspection, not having plate/insurance. Can I just use my old plate and go for the inspection directly? How do I organize the insurance in advance, not knowing the new Swiss number plate? I have done my homework on all tax stuff but I am stuck on this practical stage on how to get the Swiss plates. I read all your post but I didn't find a similar case with somebody changing the residence at the same time. Thanks

Just insure it, insurance starts the moment when you get the new plate.
