Hurrah. I just found a store in Swissy that stocks and sells this. Ok, even after the currency conversion it is 4 times the price I can buy it in the UK (which is odd because booze is usually very competitive here). But at least I don't have to worry about it spilling in my suitcase anymore or fannying about trying to find a store to buy it from (because M&S at Heathrow does not stock such an unfashionable tipple!)
Let me know if your longing for this gets too bad in future, I fly on a weekly basis so maybe some airport has it and I can fly it to Switzerland for you :-) (if it is available tax free obviously)
Thanks all for the tips. I had sherry years ago. My FIL at the time was frankly something of a snob, and would openly scorn my inability to stomach a sherry (pre & post apertif) as part of his "landed gentry" dinner events.
Fast forward 20 years. My new FIL wanted to share a drink with his new daughter. His home bar consisted of scotch, scotch, scotch, really nasty cheap paint stripper wine, scotch, or the Bristols. I have never been one for whiskey, and wasn't about to pass up the chance to bond over booze; so took the lesser of the evils. And found that my palate had changed, and I really liked the sherry.
Sometimes, when a beer isn't right, and wine just isn't working, and port is too heavy, a sip of the granny sherry is just the ticket for me! I am sure there are finer sherry products about, but until my palate develops further to appreciate them, I'll plonk (pardon the pun) for the blue bottle stuff.
A very sweet offer. I've hunted through 17 of our European airports for it, but haven't had success yet. Guess its not high-end/popular enough. Safe travels to you!
