Have you found any amazing uses for AI?

It is an interesting comparison. The Putin method of disinformation versus the Trump method. Both of them love AI. Stuff

Oh, what a brave new world, from a Wired article:

Our reporting shows that cops are paying a company to help them deploy AI-powered bots across social media and the internet to talk to people they suspect are anything from violent sex criminals all the way to vaguely defined “protestors” with the hopes of generating evidence that can be used against them.

“This idea of having an AI pretending to be somebody, a youth looking for pedophiles to talk online, or somebody who is a fake terrorist, is an idea that goes back a long time,” Dave Maass, who studies border surveillance technologies for the Electronic Frontier Foundation, told 404 Media. “The problem with all these things is that these are ill-defined problems. What problem are they actually trying to solve? One version of the AI persona is an escort. I’m not concerned about escorts. I’m not concerned about college protesters. So like, what is it effective at, violating protesters’ First Amendment rights?”

I don’t think youths are looking for pedophiles to talk online but vice versa. So very poorly formulated. As to the fake terrorist - I thought it was illegal for the police to lead people on? (Also as in example offering a big drug deal etc.)

AI is a complete scam. Its got nothing to do with intelligence.

Strange phrases now solidified in large language models. Probably along with a lot of misinformation and fake facts.

Not sure if it’s amazing or a step in the wrong direction, but Duo Lingo are moving towards using AI much more for their language stuff.

I can’t wait to incorporate AI errors of vegetative electron microscopy in my Duolingo lessons! The Swiss will be SO impressed.

Don’t count on it. Remember Switzerland is 25 years behind … 25 more years of individual thinking here.

This has got to be the best reason for AI yet

correction, did an update the other day and there that darn thing is. Although there is advice on internet on how to delete at least the button (not the feature apparently that’s not possible) which is what you @RobBob asked for, they all don’t work.

I will keep searching, please report back if you find the solution first.

Oh how I wish more people would turn to signal!

Read in the news recently that it is quite popular in the Trump admin.

Watched yesterday’s Kassensturz (Swiss german information program for consumers but I guess that is known by now here).
And yes, they showed a good use for KI.
Searching for lovers, admiring their pictures, chatting away with them even receiving videos. You can check all of it via KI programs, even if the chat contains potential attempt of fraud. Pretty impressive actually.

So people into these platforms should bookmark all those KI-sites, I guess.
The declaration of love video (not the one at the start, the one further in the report) made me laugh spontaniously, although not funny if at the receiving end I guess but it was pretty amazing.

Sorry, this is only available in German, KI part starts at 13.01 or click on the third small picture from the left

Oh and they mention, if you get calls of people/companies/police who offer help after you found out the guy/lady was fraud - do.not.fall.for. them, they’re the same people

Not sure if it’s amazing or worrying, but …

You can now buy you own AI criminal tool kit
Xanthorox AI: A New Breed of Malicious AI Threat Hits the Darknet

I strongly oppose this. Some already ignore last wishes of deceased now putting words in their mouths just because they presume they knew the deceased all that well is much, much worse and definitely a grave encroachment.
Can you imagine?? First you get killed and the next one “makes you say” things without your consent or likely not at all according to your view about it.
One is tempted to wonder what’s worse. Well one is murder and the other is rape post mortem.

Nothing new actually

I have a Handwerkerausweis, a tradesman ticket that allows me to park my Astra almost anywhere I want, Pavement, residents only, anything Astra sized is fair game. I cant park in handycap spots, or Fire engine access points or on cycle paths and if I go onto a pavement then I have to leave enough room for a a wheelchair or pram. You get the idea.
Recently Munich has been infested with parking for car sharing only, they get the best spots and their number is growing every month and they annoy the bejezzus out of everybody.
So two months ago I plonked the Astra on such a car sharing allotment and went on my merry way, only to come back to a 65 Euro fine even though my Ausweis was displayed in the windscreen.
At home I explained the situation to google and got the answer that under no circumstance can I park on such a spot, I reworded my request and the AI then told me that I can park on such a spot. I then C&P´d the AI´s answer into the objection… That was two months ago and nothing yet, I wait with bated breath.

Aren’t these car-sharing companies private = they basically rent those parking spaces on permanent basis?
Your special permit is for public ground and the answer seems clear. Or do I have to expect to find you parked on my rented parking spot sometime soon?
