Have you found any amazing uses for AI?

Looks like tha American military are really into AI: AI got the blame for the Iran school bombing. The truth is far more worrying | Iran | The Guardian

I’ve seen a few AI designed objects that look beautiful but very alien/organic.

AI has some way to go …

Anyone here using Github? Might want to know about this and opt out.

These days one has to opt out just about everywhere.

Looks like AI fake editing.

I had been puzzled why some Swiss sites seem to opt in whilst others are opt out. In this case, the Swiss compromise seems to be a bit of a muddle: https://privacylegal.ch/download/62/The_new_Swiss_Data_Protection_Act_-_What_you_need_to_know_final.pdf?inline=true

Some sites (not necessarily Swiss) don’t even give the option. The pop-up says something along the lines of “we use cookies, so if you use this site you’re okay with that. If you’re not okay with that, stop using this site.” I’m not sure how that works - I didn’t know when I opened the site that they don’t offer an option, and even if I close the window the site probably already added cookies.

Informaniak is committed to doing something about it

Not me, it’s the Sheik Mohammed from Dubai.

Let them try first…mastery of AI in redesigning government work, raising efficiency :grimacing:

Under the directives of the President of the UAE, we launch a new government model. Within two years, 50% of government sectors, services, and operations will run on Agentic AI, making the UAE the first government globally to operate at this scale through autonomous systems.

AI is no longer a tool. It analyses, decides, executes, and improves in real time. It will become our executive partner to enhance services, accelerate decisions, and raise efficiency.

This transformation has a clear timeline. Two years. Performance across government will be measured by speed of adoption, quality of implementation, and mastery of AI in redesigning government work.

We are investing in our people. Every federal employee will be trained to master AI, building one of the world’s strongest capabilities in AI-driven government.

Implementation will be overseen by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, with a dedicated taskforce chaired by Mohammad Al Gergawi driving execution.

The world is changing. Technology is accelerating. Our principle remains constant. People come first. Our goal is a government that is faster, more responsive, and more impactful.

I just remembered the Soviet dream of a computer network to control the planned economy to remove all the inefficiencies and waste of the dumb and clearly inferior capitalist production system. We’ll bury you with power of central planning!!!

PS. there’s a chance of Dubai being the customer, the seller and the investor at the same time. The UAE investment fund has invested in AI companies. If one of those gets the contract and turns a profit, it would be one of the first to accomplish that…which would add billions to the valuation.

This is doomed to failure. The ME runs on lazy arab managers who refuse to think or work, while all the work is being done by imported labour, largly from south(east) asia.

AI will displace the middle layer - the arabs … then they have other problems.

AI can not yet do the physical labour, like a cook or waiter or housework. If they get robots for all that, then the equation changes significantly …

Actually it’s Sheik Mohammed from Abu Dhabi that is UAE president.
