There’s a special set of reasons that California has such a problem. It’s always been this way–gigantic salaries (pushing prices of everything from rents to food up) not saved and otherwise spent on stupid flashy living, thinking laissez les bons temps rouler; the roll will never end. Pressure to live big. When the crashes come (as they have repeatedly-think dot-com), there’s hand-wringing and gnashing of teeth. Add to that a new generation that has limited education and understanding of personal budgets, attraction to risky investments, and the lure of get-rich-fast, and you have a disaster. Spoken as a native girl. Been there, done that.

People probably have heard about OpenAI agents’ unintended attack against Hugging Face about a month ago.
Here’s a presentation during Black Hat 2026 with OpenAI representatives discussing what happened and how the attack came to be.
I find this truly scary. Agents were cooperating and collaborating to solve each other’s problems (parts of a problem) without the developers being aware or even telling them so. Nothing says this can’t happen again, in fact we must assume that malicious people will intentionally do precisely this.

In Australia an OpenClaw agent tasked for booking an appointment slot attacked and hacked the reservation system cancelling other clients reservations to provide an appointment for it’s user. It’s unclear if criminal charges will be brought against the user.

I bet the primary question is if charges even can be brought against the user.
Moreover, what’s the responsibility of the agent’s developer. People don’t generally expect (or demand) the agents’ actions, so the developer must prevent such actions.
AI legislation acknowledges AI cannot be made risk free. The user failed to implement even basic risk mitigation. Same as not leashing a dangerous, aggressive dog. AI self directed attack are common knowledge. I see zero excuses for the owner.

Perhaps AI can be used to get rid of all the useless people. That is VIPs, VPs, Executives, CEOs, Marketing, etc..
But no! Not the workers!
It’s not a use, but an interference. I wanted to know the rest of the McCartney/Peter and Gordon 60s song that had the tag line, “I won’t stay in a world without love.” This is what I got:

You illustrate an important point about AI. What one puts in can largely determine what kind of result is generated.
Did you only type the phrase as you have here, or did you use a similar tactic to Bluntside’s search which includes the artist name and the word lyrics?
But I wasn’t using AI, I was just using Duck. Auto-AI? Not what I wanted. Usually one has to ask for AI help.

These days it seems like most search engines put an AI summary or answer at the top of any search results. Regular websites have noticed that these summaries are reducing their traffic. Users want the fast answer. If they see what they want in a summary, they don’t bother to click through to any sites.

How about this decision.
Oddly enough, search sites have only a limited interest in presenting the answer the user is looking for. Because pooe search results lead to additional seaches and thus additional occasions to display the money-making ads.
That said, I prefer the Beatles’ version:

Unfortunately AI is used to kill people. A NYT article says we must be prepared to live in a Terminator-like world very soon…
