Just saw this report in another place, thought I’d share it here.
Shitty couple of days in Valais, 6 deaths in less than 24 hours.
It will take a couple weeks for the Swiss Transportation Safety Investigation Board to publish something.
It sounds like the helicopter may have caused and avalanche on landing, which then swept it away.
Of course his name is Mr. Courage:
Mr Courage is said to have saved Teddy and Guy by pushing them out of the helicopter as it slid off the summit.
However, he plunged an estimated 500m down into a crevasse and was stranded for five hours before being winched to safety.
That one gave me pause.
My boss used to heli-ski.
But apparently he gave it up a couple of years ago.
