Helicopter rides

My nephew, 16 years old, is visiting me around Easter and I'd like to take him for a helicopter ride. Anyone tried any of the swiss ones? Do you recommend it?

If you have other ideas suitable for teenage boys, I welcome them.

Cheers

Hi ! I've done it in the Alps with http://charlietango.ch , an incredible experience ! Unforgettable ! Did a tour in the alps, then we landed next to a restaurant in the mountains, had a wonderful meal and returned for another tour. I highly recommend. Otherwise, closer to Zurich : http://www.bodyflying.ch . Hope this helps !

Air Zermatt around the Matterhorn?

If your offered a ride in a Robinson helicopter, run as fast as you can.

No way.

http://www.robinsonheli.com/rhc_safety_notices.html

As Robinson helicopters are dirt cheap, they are owned by rich kids, who are not experienced pilots. Maintaince varies & often skimped.

I know someone who films from helicopters on a weekly basis, he puts pilots in 4 categories, in descending order of his preference.

1) Experience gained in Vietnam war.

2) Military trained pilots

3) Commercial pilots

3) Robinson owners.

He will never get in a Robinson.

Not to mention, that you apparently only nano seconds to get the thing into auto-rotate, or you are toast!

What's wrong with those safety notices?

This one seems awesome:

You could get him like 20 rides and a six pack and I'm sure he'll have the time of his life.

That was my first thought at 9.30 this morning, but didn't have time to google image search ...... and thought a bit harsh for the first reply - even for me.

This was my second:

If the westher is good they do great trips around the eiger, monch and jungfrau from the top of Mannlichen which is accessed from Wengen. I think it is glacier air that operate it. They are based on lauterbrunnen and interlaken but have a base at Mannlichen in the winter.

Which company is that Sophie76?

I have a family friend who flies out of the Gruyere area and is open to taking passengers who cover the cost of the helicopter.

He is an Airbus 32X pilot (Swiss) who flies out of DE but wants to keep up his helicopter hours. I can put you in touch if you are interested.

Hello everyone.

I've organised a helicopter ride for tomorrow Wednesday, at 13:00hr. We are two people but there is place for 2 more. It costs 580CHF for the ride. If anyone is interested to join, we can share the cost. It is near PFaffnau. PM me if interested.
