Hello everyone, Wolfie here, nice to meet ya!

Hi there!
I’m just an expat/immigrant trying to move to Switzerland.
Originally from Croatia, living in Ireland for a decade, now wanting to move. Sadly I speak very little German, but i’m actively learning it!

If anyone has any tips for someone trying to get into either Accounting / finance field (3 years of experience + BA(Hons) in accounting + nearly finished aCCA) or into CNC field (10 years of experience), please do share them! I’d really appreciate it.

Hello and welcome!

Welcome to the forum

Good luck. I think the path you are on is the most straight-forward. Get a qualification and then get a job based on that.

From what I can see, it is pretty brutal. The cost of labour is so high, esp. with high Swiss Franc value, that I see many finance jobs off-shored or replaced with AI.

Good luck!

If you can say “Das ist der hammer”, then you are halfway there.

Ebbe fits every situation like “isn’t it”

Most big company finance depts use English anyway

Over in Bern they say “Weisst du” after every other sentence.
