My husband is originally from Zurich but has lived abroad for many years. I guess becoming a new mum and moving country all within a month was quite a shock and I find myself a year and a half later still unable to understand a word anyone says and not really knowing nice family freindly places in and around Zurich, I'm also trying to find mummy and toddler groups so I can meet other mums and Isabella can spend some time with other children. I am starting German lessons on Saturday mornings so hubby can look after baby so fingers crossed I'll be fluent very soon as baby number 2 is on the way in June and then I definitely won't have time to eat let alone attend a language class. Until soon, Dawn.
Hello, I'm new to the english forum and just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Dawn and have been living in Zurich for coming up to a year and a half. My husband and I moved here from London (where I am from) in May 2007 and in June 2007 our daughter Isabella was born - she is now nearly 18 months old.
Welcome to the EF. I wish you making progress with German and get to meet people sharing similar interests in life. Good luck with your move
Good luck with the german lessons. You might meet some new people. I met a few new people. I keep in contact with a couple of my classmates now.
Hi Dawn, Welcome to Switzerland and to the Forum. There's lots of info here on Toddler's and Mom's groups, hopefully you'll find one near you. Check out the notice board/threads for meeting times. Good luck with the German class and with your pregnancy.. lots happening eh?
