Hi all,

I am writting a cover letter for an application and I just blocked my mind...

It would be great if someone could help me with this. I have to finish the letter with:

Having said this, I would certainly be grateful if my application would be taken into consideration for this position.

or

Having said this, I would certainly be grateful if my application was taken into consideration for this position.

I think the right one is the first one but I do not know... I am blocked!!

Grateful is perhaps not the right word in a letter to a business.

A simple "Thank you for considering my application for this position." will suffice.
