Please bear with me. It is our first second hand car in Switzerland so we our lost. So on Friday ( 28.04.2017) I bought a second hand car Audi 4 ( 2005 make) from a Garage in Zürich. I saw the car on Monday and we agreed he will do fresh MFK ( last MFK was done in 2016) , fresh service and get number plates for us too. We did a contract and I paid him some money to come and pick the car and car papers on Friday. On Friday we paid him cash and he gave us car with new number plates and said that car papers ( Fahrzeugausweis) will come home in post. He also gave us a paper saying that this is our MFK and all is good. Fahrzeug Prüfbericht ( Art. 13 SVG. Art 33 Vrs).
We drove away directly from there for a small vacation and just came back to find the Fahrzeugausweis in our post box. In the Fahrzeugausweis section 39 Prüfungen the date is written 18.02.2016
Section 38 says Zurich, 28.04.2017
Does this mean that the garage is lying and they never did any fresh MFK and sold us the car with old MFK?? The paper he gave us saying its our MFK is fake?? I checked the paper he gave us again and there is nowhere the word MFK written on that paper.
I am totally shocked that a Garage can do that and don't know what to do next?
There is no such thing as fake MFK.
No, they didn't do a new one. Most likely due to no need (or couldn't get an appointemnt on such short notice), you won't need to do one for at least another year anyway.
If you are unhappy with the situation, speak to the garage about it, nothing illegal here.

Will be if they charged him for the test and didn’t do it.
Unless they did it and it failed.

A Prüfbericht like this one?

Should AFAIK the white carbon copy. If the Stammnummer on the top right matches with the one in the Graycard, take gray card and your copy of the Prüfbericht to the nearst Canton Zürich StVA. In your case it may be Winterhur-Wülflingen (just next to the Autobahn) to get it fixed an ammended on the graz card.

Thank you!! Yes the MFK was done and we got it fixed finally
Cant believe that government offices are making these kind of mistakes here. Strassenverkehramts also got my wrong name on my driving license when I changed it last month
Got that fixed too!
Hello everyone,
I have a quick question. I bought a car last year which I'm selling now because I'm moving back to USA. It's a 2009 and according the registration card the last MFK was done in 2015. Is it truth that if I sell the vehicle the new owner have to do an MFK in order to register the car? I thought this was something that was sent by invitation.
They may get an invitaion after they register it, but they don't need to do a MFK beforehand.
